Colts' Michael Pittman Jr. clears concussion protocol, 'should be ready to roll' against Raiders

While Pittman Jr. is expected to return Sunday, running back Zack Moss was ruled out with a forearm injury.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts are getting a key player back for their playoff push.

Head coach Shane Steichen announced Dec. 29 that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has cleared concussion protocol and "should be ready to roll" for the team's penultimate regular season game against the Raiders.

The press release says that Pittman Jr. was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but participated in full on Thursday.

Pittman Jr. had been in concussion protocol since the team's Week 15 game against the Steelers after a brutal hit from Pittsburgh's Damontae Kazee

While Pittman Jr. returns as an offensive weapon for quarterback Gardner Minshew, Shane Steichen also announced running back Zack Moss has been ruled out for Sunday's game with a forearm injury. Moss also left the game against the Steelers with injury and was ruled out during last week's loss to the Falcons.

“He’s just working through his deal on his arm,” said Steichen when asked about why Moss was ruled out for Sunday's game.

Finally, right tackle Braden Smith was not ruled out Friday. Smith sustained a knee injury during Week 13.

“He (Smith) practiced well this week, looked good. We’ll see how it goes,” said Steichen.
