INDIANAPOLIS — After picking the first defensive player of this year's NFL draft in the first round Thursday, the Indianapolis Colts got some help for the offense on Friday.
The Colts selected Adonai Mitchell, a wide receiver who played two years at Georgia before transferring to Texas, with the 52nd pick in the draft. He won two national titles with the Bulldogs.
He caught 55 passes for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 games for the Longhorns. The touchdown mark led all Big 12 receivers.
The Colts were initially slated to pick 46th, but traded that selection to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for the 52nd pick and a pair of fifth-round picks.
Indianapolis made a trade in the third round to move up and select Matt Goncalves, an offensive tackle from Pittsburgh. In exchange for the Arizona Cardinals' pick at 79, the Colts gave up their third-round pick at 82, along with a sixth-round selection (191st overall).
