INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts cornerback JuJu Brents is going onto injured reserve after a knee injury in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport first reported the decision to put Brents on IR.

Brents played at Warren Central High School, on Indy's east side before playing safety for the University of Iowa and Kansas State.

He was a second round pick for the Colts in last year's draft. He started 8 games and had an interception and a forced fumble. He almost had an interception in Sunday's game but it was ruled he didn't get his second foot inbounds.

The Colts had hoped Brents would play a key roll in a defensive secondary that was already looking thin.

The Colts signed cornerback Chris Lammons to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. He has played with 5 different NFL teams since 2018.
