Anthony Richardson back under center as Colts prepare for Jets | Inside the Huddle

Indianapolis Colts defensive end DeForest Buckner previews the team's Week 11 matchup with the New York Jets with 13Sports director Dave Calabro.

INDIANAPOLIS — Arguably the biggest news in the Indianapolis sports world is the Colts' recent announcement that quarterback Anthony Richardson will once again be the starter during the team's Week 11 matchup with the New York Jets.

Colts defensive end DeForest Buckner joined 13Sports director Dave Calabro to talk about how the team is handling the quarterback change.

"Obviously everybody is behind the decision Shane (Steichen) made, naming AR (Anthony Richardson) the starter for the remainder of the season," said Buckner, when asked to describe the team's recent meeting. "The team has always been behind him, always believed in him. Like we said before we knew he was going to get another opportunity and I can't wait to see what he does with it."

Now, learning how to be a pro takes some time. Buckner said every NFL player has to learn how to be a professional at their own pace.

"We've all had to learn our different ways on how to become a pro," said Buckner. "It's his second year in the NFL and he's only 22 years old. A lot of guys get in at 22. So, there's a lot of that growth process that needs to be done, but I think he's been able to learn a lot and he's paying attention to details and how to become a pro within the last two weeks."

As someone who practices with Richardson, Buckner said he's been impressed with Richardson's play.

"The way he's able to extend plays, he can feel the pocket, use his legs and then make those big throws down the field," said Buckner.

The Colts will play Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on Sunday. Dave asked Buckner why Rodgers is such a dangerous quarterback.

"He's seen all the defenses that have been thrown at him over the course of his career," said Buckner. "He does a really good job of reading defenses and putting his guys in the right positions to be successful and getting the ball out quick."

Buckner also mentioned that the Colts need to do a good job of keeping the pressure on Rodgers and their running backs.
