INDIANA, USA — The ninth week of the college football season has wrapped up, and the home stretch of the year is approaching. It's make or break time for teams hoping to have a postseason.

In NCAA FBS, Notre Dame rolled over Pittsburgh, while Indiana and Purdue dropped their sixth games of the season, respectively. The Ball State Cardinals begin "MACtion" play on Wednesday.

In FCS, the Butler Bulldogs held on to the Hoosier Helmet Trophy for the second straight year with a win over the Valparaiso Beacons. Butler is now fourth in the Pioneer Football League standings and will still need to keep winning and have a little luck for an FCS playoff birth. The Indiana State Sycamores lost a heartbreaker in overtime against North Dakota. Had the Sycamores won the game, it would have been their first win of the season. With the loss, they fell to 0-8.

The UIndy Greyhounds stayed undefeated in Division II with a victory over Upper Iowa. They moved into the top ten in the AFCA Coaches Poll last week.

The Trine Thunder had their bye week this week, meaning one less Division III team played this weekend. With just two games left in the DIII season, the Anderson Ravens and Manchester Spartans remain winless heading into the Bronze Ball Game on Nov. 11. The Franklin Grizzlies had a difficult Saturday after being blown out by Mt. St. Joseph. The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers held off a late rally from the Hanover Panthers for their sixth win of the season.

The DePauw Tigers remained undefeated with their win over Kenyon. The Tigers will have a week off before playing the Wabash Little Giants — who also won this weekend — on Nov. 11 in the 129th Monon Bell Classic. However, the Little Giants will have to play Hiram next week.

In the NAIA, the Marian Knights and Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats won their respective in-state games over the Taylor Trojans and St. Francis Cougars, respectively. The Knights and Wildcats meet next week, meaning one team's undefeated season will come to an end.
