INDIANAPOLIS — As Hoosiers gear up for the All-Star Game in Indianapolis, the NBA and the Pacers organization are looking for volunteers.
They set a goal to pack one million meals and they'll be delivered to people in need across the state.
The NBA is calling this project "24 Hours of Service." They need 6,000 volunteers who are willing to pack meals around the clock to meet their goal.
It is scheduled to happen on Feb. 15 and 16. Volunteers can sign up for a 90-minute slot at Lucas Oil Stadium to help with meal prep.
Danny Lopez, a spokesperson for the Pacers, said thousands of people have already signed up to take a shift, but there is still a need for more.
Lopez told 13News that the biggest need for volunteers right now is during the overnight shift.
After the meals are packed, the organization will distribute them to food banks across the state.
