INDIANAPOLIS — Singer, actress and talk show host Jennifer Hudson will sing during halftime of the 2024 NBA All-Star Game in downtown Indianapolis.
The Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner will perform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Feb. 18, and will also participate in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, the league announced Wednesday, Feb. 7.
Indianapolis native and 13-time Grammy winner Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds will sing the U.S. national anthem before the 73rd NBA All-Star Game.
Canadian Juno Award-winning singer Charlotte Cardin will sing the Canadian national anthem before the game.
Hudson will also play in the NBA All-Star Celebrity game in honor of her late brother, Jason, who was murdered in 2008 along with their mother, Darnell Donerson.
"In honor of him, I always make a point to celebrity his birthday," Hudson said during her talk show. "I think I should be on the Celebrity All-Star Team. Guess what? It's finally happening!"
On Friday night, Indianapolis-based band The Brothers Footman and Canadian singer-songwriter Kyra Daniels will perform the U.S. and Canadian national anthems, respectively, before the 2024 Rising Stars game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
At 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Coco Jones will sing the U.S. national anthem and the Black national anthem, "Lift Every Voice," alongside Winston Salem State University Red Sea of Sound and Virginia Union University Ambassadors of Sound at the HBCU Classic.
