INDIANAPOLIS — The field has been set for the NBA's All-Star Saturday Night competitions.
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton will compete in the Starry 3-Point Contest, matching up against Malik Beasley and Damian Lillard from Milwaukee, New York's Jalen Brunson, Utah's Lauri Markkanen, Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell, Minnesota's Karl-Anthony Towns and Atlanta's Trae Young. Lillard is looking to defend his 2023 title.
Haliburton will be joined by Indiana teammates Myles Turner and Bennedict Mathurin in the night's first event, the Kia Skills Challenge. "Team Pacers" will go up against "Team Top Picks," made up of Orlando's Paolo Banchero, Minnesota's Anthony Edwards and Victor Wembanyama, who was picked first overall in last year's NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs, and "Team All-Stars," consisting of Toronto's Scottie Barnes, Philadelphia's Tyrese Maxey and Young.
The teams will compete in three rounds of competition, featuring a team relay, team passing and team shooting contests. The team with the most points after three rounds will be crowned champion. If two teams are tied after three rounds, they'll face off in a tiebreaker to see which team can make a half-court shot the fastest.
Haliburton is currently Indiana's lone representative in the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The night will wrap up with the popular AT&T Slam Dunk contest.
Boston's Jaylen Brown, Miami's Jaime Jaquez Jr. and New York's Jacob Toppin will try to unseat defending champion Mac McClung of the NBA G League's Osceola Magic in the competition.
Toppin's older brother, Obi, is a member of the Indiana Pacers.
State Farm All-Star Saturday Night airs Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. EST on TNT from Lucas Oil Stadium.
The events at Lucas Oil Stadium will be held on a state-of-the-art glass playing surface, with LED technology tracking player movements, playing replays and displaying live stats right on the court.
