INDIANAPOLIS — A local church in Indianapolis got the chance to perform alongside Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson during halftime at the NBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Eastern Star Church's music ministry group says they got the call to perform last week when one of Hudson's music producers was looking for a local choir to sing with her.
They said they had to go through several days of training for more than eight hours just to prepare for the big stage.
"The adrenaline rush that we got from being there, the excitement from it all. Once it was culminated, it was like we were still on a high," Sherri Garrison said. "I was still on a high even when it was all over with. It was an amazing experience, and I'm glad we got to experience it."
The ministry group got to take photos with Hudson after the show and said it's a moment they'll never forget.
