INDIANAPOLIS — The 2024 NBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis will feature a hometown hero in the starting lineup.
Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton was named a starter for the NBA All-Star Game Feb. 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The starting rosters were announced Thursday evening.
Haliburton, who is currently out of the Pacers lineup as he tends to a hamstring injury, is averaging 23.6 points and a league-leading 12.6 assists per game.
The All-Star Game will be the second in Haliburton's career. He scored 18 points in last year's game in Salt Lake City.
He will be joined in the East starting lineup by Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, Philadelphia's Joel Embiid, Boston's Jayson Tatum.
That group will tip off against a Western Conference team led by the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James, Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic, Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The All-Star team was voted on by fans, players and the media. Haliburton led the voting for Eastern Conference guards on each of the three ballots.
The rest of the All-Star Game rosters will be announced Thursday, Feb. 1.
