MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Noblesville native Conor Daly is returning to the driver's seat of a stock car this weekend.

Rette Jones Racing, a team competing in the ARCA Menards Series, announced Daly will drive their No. 30 Ford Mustang during the Zinsser SmartCoat 150 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday, June 21.

“Very excited to finally make my ARCA debut with Rette Jones Racing,” Daly said in a press release. “This opportunity came up pretty last minute, but I love Mid-Ohio and really enjoy racing there. I’ve have raced a Truck there and so I have a little bit of heavy car experience there."

This will be Daly's first start in the ARCA Menards Series, having previously started NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series races.

Daly's stock car return follows his 10th-place finish in last month's Indianapolis 500, driving for Dreyer and Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports. Daly has not run a NASCAR-sanctioned event so far in 2024, with his most recent start coming last fall when he ran the Charlotte ROVAL with Emerling-Gase Motorsports, finishing 35th. He was entered at the 2023 Pennzoil 150 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's road course, but failed to qualify.

“We want to go be competitive, and we’ll see how it goes. I want to say thanks to all the folks that made this happen. Mark Rette has been really helpful in getting me into the game, and we’re going to go and try and win a race together," Daly said in a press release.

While this is Daly's first scheduled ARCA race, he has plenty of experience at Mid-Ohio. He has run eight IndyCar races at the 2.258-mile road course, with a best finish of sixth in 2016. He also competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in 2023, finishing 18th for Niece Motorsports.
