MOORESVILLE, N.C. — IndyCar veteran Marco Andretti is continuing his transition into stock cars.
After making three starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2023, the third-generation racer has announced he will run a part-time schedule in NASCAR and ARCA for 2024.
Andretti will race for Roper Racing in select NASCAR Truck races and will race for Cook Racing Technologies in select ARCA Menards Series races. He will make his ARCA debut at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 17.
According to a social media post, Andretti will run a total of 20 races across the NASCAR Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series and ARCA West Series. His first start in the Truck Series is scheduled for March 23 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
Andretti will run the July doubleheader at Indianapolis Raceway Park in Brownsburg driving in both the ARCA Menards race and NASCAR Craftsman Truck race. He finished fourth at IRP during the SRX Series' lone visit in 2021.
After 15 full-time seasons racing in IndyCar, Andretti scaled back his schedule and now runs only in the Indianapolis 500.
He won the 2022 SRX championship and finished runner-up in the points standings in 2023. His best finish in his three Truck starts last year was an 18th-place finish at Homestead in October.
"This plan is a good mixture of races with the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series that provides maximum track time, which is what I’m after," Andretti said on social media. "It will answer a lot of my unknowns in stock cars. I also want to do it the right way and not go right to the top of their sport on my IndyCar and SRX merit as I respect the amount of talent in all of the various stock car series."
Andretti posted the fifth-quickest time in the Jan. 12 ARCA pre-season test at Daytona.
