Fans can show racing spirit on July 4th weekend through #BackyardBrickyard

You'll be able to watch the NASCAR and INDYCAR tripleheader July 3-5 on NBC.

INDIANAPOLIS — Just because you can't be in the stands for the NASCAR and INDYCAR tripleheader July 3-5 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, doesn't mean you can't show your racing spirit.

Fans are being encouraged to share their excitement using #BackyardBrickyard. You can also visit ims.com/backyardbrickyard which will have special barbecue and cookout recipes from drivers and a free digital download of the Official Event Program for the weekend that normally is sold at the track.

On Thursday, IMS President J. Douglas Boles, Mark Borchetta from Big Machine and Nikki Reed from the Smiley Morning Show on 99.5 WZPL will be visiting local restaurants in the Town of Speedway to determine the Official Cocktail of #BackyardBrickyard.

The Speedway community can take part in a #BackyardBrickyard Sidewalk Chalk Art Exhibit. There will also be a professional artist from Fort Wayne on Main Street to design sidewalk chalk art.

Then on Saturday, IMS is partnering with Susan Decker Media for a special Fourth of July Kids' Bike Parade on Main Street in Speedway. It begins at 11:15 a.m. at Community Health Pavilion, and it ends at Fundae's Ice Cream and Sweets. Parents and kids are encouraged to deck out their bicycles with patriotic colors and décor.
