Lucas Oil Stadium roof to be closed for Colts vs. Broncos due to 'mechanical issue'

INDIANAPOLIS — The roof at Lucas Oil Stadium will be closed Sunday, according to Indianapolis Colts team owner Jim Irsay.

In a post on social media, Irsay cited a "mechanical issue" and said that the window will still be open. 

The Colts face off against the Denver Broncos for their first preseason football game. 

The themes for Sunday's game are "Family Day" and "Play Football." There will also be a blue color-changing cup available for giveaway. The Colts Junior Cheer and Moms Performance will perform at halftime.  

Here's the schedule for the Colts games this season:

  • Preseason: Sunday, Aug. 17 - Colts vs. Cardinals
  • Sunday, Sept. 8 - Colts vs. Texans
  • Sunday, Sept. 22 - Colts vs. Bears
  • Sunday, Sept. 29 - Colts vs. Steelers
  • Sunday, Oct. 20 - Colts vs. Dolphins
  • Sunday, Nov. 10 - Colts vs. Bills
  • Sunday, Nov. 24 - Colts vs. Lions
  • Sunday, Dec. 22 - Colts vs. Titans
  • Week 18 (TBA) - Colts vs. Jaguars
