WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — One of basketball's biggest rising stars just declared for the 2024 NBA Draft.
Purdue center and two-time National Player of the Year Zach Edey told ESPN he formally submitted his paperwork to the NBA making him eligible for the draft.
Edey is one of the most decorated players in college basketball history. He led the nation in scoring at 24.9 points per game this past season and rounded out the top three in rebounding with 12.2 per game.
In his last season with Purdue, Edey led his team to the national championship game, where he scored 37 points and posted 10 rebounds — which would still not be enough to beat No. 1 seed UConn.
The 7-foot-4 inch 21-year-old had declared for the draft in 2023 but decided to return to Purdue for his last year.
The 2024 NBA Draft will be held in New York City this summer on June 26 and 27.
