Downtown Indy packed with Colts, Fever home games Sunday

If one home game wasn't enough for fans, two definitely brought the excitement!

INDIANAPOLIS — With the Colts and Fever games happening back-to-back Sunday, downtown Indianapolis was packed.

Colts fans had high hopes for the season opener, looking to get their first season opener win since 2013.

"We thought it was going to be with a win," said Clayton Anderson, a fan who had just left the game.

Unfortunately, the team's Week 1 drought would continue with a 27-29 loss to the Texans.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is sacked by Houston Texans defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. during an NFL game, Sept. 8, 2024.

"Would have been more fun if we won, but it was a lot of fun," said another fan.

Lucky for Indianapolis sports fans, this wasn't the only big game in downtown Indianapolis.

"I have been cheering on the Fever every single day since preseason. It is amazing what Caitlin Clark and the fever are doing for our city, the money they're bringing in all the people," Anderson said.

The Fever saved the day for Indy with a 104-100 overtime win against the Atlanta Dream.
