INDIANAPOLIS — Caroline Strande scored 14 points to lead all scorers as Butler defeated Indiana 56-46 Wednesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Sydney Jaynes from Brownstown, Indiana added 11 points as the Bulldogs beat the Hoosiers for just the second time in school history.
Leading 46-44 with just over three minutes remaining, Jaynes hit a pair of baskets in the paint to extend the lead to 50-44. Strande made six free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Shay Ciezki led the Hoosiers with 11 points, while Yarden Garzon added 10.
The Bulldogs, now 3-0 on the season, will play at Vanderbilt on Sunday, Nov. 17. The Hoosiers fell to 1-2 ahead of their home game Sunday, Nov. 17 against No. 24 Stanford.
