Parade welcomes Avon Marching Black & Gold home after BOA Grand Nationals win

The Marching Black & Gold finished their 2023 competition season with their 16th ISSMA state title and a BOA Grand National title.

AVON, Ind. — Fresh off their 2023 Bands of America Grand National Championship, the Avon Marching Black & Gold were welcomed back to town with a parade late Saturday night.

The Marching Black & Gold's BOA title caps off a historic year for the band that saw them win their 16th ISSMA State Championship in October

Their 2023 show, titled "Tableaux," scored a 97.475 on Saturday, beating out Carmel High School by .200.

In dominating fashion, the Marching Black & Gold finished first or second in all their invitational shows this season, while advancing with either a first or second ranking in all of their ISSMA and BOA competitions.

The group arrived back to Avon High School around 2 a.m. Sunday morning and were greeted by a group of fans and parents celebrating the band's incredible year.

🚔 🚒National Championship Escort🥇 Our officers along with the Washington Township / Avon Fire Department had the privilege of escorting the Avon High School marching band home early this morning, shortly after they were crowned the 2023 Bands of America Grand Nationals Champions at Lucas Oil Stadium! We thought we would share a short video of the hundreds of parents, families, staff members, and community supporters who greeted these champions at Avon High School at 2:00 am this morning!
