Europe's No. 1 pickleball player hosts clinic in Carmel

"My goal is to try to make them better, have a good time, increase love of pickleball across the country," Professional player Jay Devilliers said.

CARMEL, Ind. — Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America for three years, and one club in Carmel is bringing in Europe's top-ranked player to help teach locals.

Professional player Jay Devilliers hosted several clinics at the Dink House, just east of the Monon Trail

He said he started as a tennis player and doubted the new sport, but quickly fell in love and climbed the ranks. He's hoping that hosting the clinics will get more people passionate about the sport.

"My goal is to try to make them better, have a good time, increase love of pickleball across the country," Devilliers said.

Dozens of players of all levels got the chance to learn from him over the weekend.
