SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WTHR) - European soccer powers will play matches in three U.S. cities this summer, including South Bend.
Liverpool Football Club plans three preseason games in iconic American venues, including July 19 at Notre Dame Stadium. The match versus Borussia Dortmud begins at 10:00 a.m.
In addition, the club will play on July 21 at Fenway Park in Boston and at Yankee Stadium in New York on July 24.
It will be the first time ever that the 77,000-seat Notre Dame Stadium has hosted a competitive soccer match.
“Pre-season tour is an important time of the year for our first team to prepare for the upcoming season, while also providing the opportunity to bring the first team to our fans around the world," said Billy Hogan, LFC’s managing director and chief commercial officer.
Ticketmaster will begin ticket sales on April 26 at 10:00 a.m.
July 19: Liverpool Football Club v Borussia Dortmund, Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, Indiana.
July 21: LFC v Sevilla, Fenway Park, Boston.
July 24: LFC v Sporting, Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York.
