A visit by ESPN's College Gameday, two games at the new Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, a home game with North Carolina as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and four Saturday home games during the Big Ten season highlight the 2012-13 Indiana University men's basketball schedule announced today.

IU could play 18 games against teams who competed in the postseason a year ago and 12 games against teams picked in early preseason Top 25 polls.

The Hoosiers will open the regular season on November 9 at home against Bryant and then will host two preliminary games of the Legends Classic when North Dakota State visits on November 12 and Sam Houston State comes to town on November 15.

The Hoosiers will spend the early part of the Thanksgiving break in New York where they will play the semifinals of the Legends Classic in the new Barclay's Center in Brooklyn where they battle Georgia in one semifinal on November 19. Depending on the outcome of the Georgia game, IU will face either Georgetown or UCLA the following night.

The Hoosiers return to Assembly Hall on November 25 to take on in-state rival Ball State and then host North Carolina in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge two days later. IU will play back-to-back Saturday home games against Coppin State on December 1 and Central Connecticut State on December 8.

The Hoosiers will participate in the Crossroads Classic for the second straight year in Indianapolis on December 15 when they will face Butler in the first game of a twinbill which also features Purdue and Notre Dame.

IU will conclude its non-conference slate with home break games with Mount Saint Mary's on December 19, Florida Atlantic on December 21 and Jacksonville on December 28.

Indiana will begin its 18-game Big Ten schedule at Iowa on New Years Eve and at Penn State on January 7. The Hoosiers' Big Ten home opener will be January 12 in the first of four Saturday league games played at Assembly Hall.

Wisconsin makes its first trip to Bloomington in two years on January 15 followed by IU's first trip to Evanston in the same time frame to take on Northwestern on January 20. The Hoosiers will host Penn State on January 23 and Michigan State on January 27 before closing out the month with a visit to Purdue on January 30.

The ESPN Gameday crew will set up shop in Assembly Hall on Saturday, February 2 prior to the Hoosiers' game that evening against Michigan and then IU hits the road for back-to-back games at Illinois on February 7 and at Ohio State on February 10. The Cream and Crimson then host Nebraska for the first time as a conference opponent on February 13 and has a rematch with Purdue at home on February 16.

IU will travel to Michigan State on February 19 and have the weekend off before returning to action at Minnesota on February 26. The Hoosiers will host Iowa on March 2 and will enjoy their Senior Night on March 5 against Ohio State. The regular season concludes with a road game at Michigan on March 10. The Big Ten Tournament will be played March 14 thru 17 at the United Center in Chicago.

Notes: Television designations and times for all IU games will be announced at a later date. The majority of IU home basketball games are officially sold out. Tickets are available for a four-game Holiday mini series featuring home games against Ball State (Nov. 25), Mount Saint Mary's (December 19), Florida Atlantic (December 21) and Jacksonville (December 28). Call the IU Athletics Ticket Office at 866-487-7678 where you also may purchase tickets for the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis. IU is expected to play one other exhibition game at home in early November against a non-Division I opponent.
