INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston was just recognized with a very special honor.
She was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of June 10-16.
This is the second time Boston has been named Player of the Week throughout her career.
The Fever said Boston recorded three double-doubles and averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2 blocks per game in the team's three games last week. She also moved into a tie for fifth in franchise history for all-time double-doubles recorded with 15.
Boston scored 14 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal against the Connecticut Sun on June 10.
She tied a career-high 27 points and game-high 13 rebounds against the Dream on Thursday.
Boston scored 19 points, a season-high 14 rebounds, a career-high five blocks and distributed four assists in Sunday's win against the Sky.
The Fever said she is entering this week averaging 12.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest from the 15 games she's played so far this year.
Boston is 10th in blocks per game and 12th in rebounds per game.
The next Fever game is against the Washington Mystics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday, June 19 at 7 p.m.
As the Local TV Home of the Indiana Fever, WTHR/WALV will broadcast 16 Fever games during the season.
