ARCADIA, Indiana — It's a Hoosier Conference showdown in the Operation Football Game of the Week!

The Twin Lakes Indians (3-3) travel southeast to Arcadia to take on the Hamilton Heights Huskies (1-5) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

So far, this season hasn't gone the way either team would like. Twin Lakes has posted some good wins, but has also faced big losses. Meanwhile, things have been slightly worse for Hamilton Heights. They defeated conference rival Western (who currently has an 0-6 record) on Sept. 20 for their first win of the season, but otherwise have posted double-digit losses three times this season.

The Huskies have done a complete 180 from last season when they finished the season with an 11-1 record. If they don't turn things around quickly, they could be on pace to finish 1-9. Their next two opponents, Tipton and West Lafayette, are both 4-2 so far this season.

Compounding things for the Huskies, they have not scored any points on Twin Lakes in their last two meetings. In 2022 the Indians blew out the Huskies 43-0 and then did almost the exact same thing a year later in 2023 when they routed Heights 45-0.

For the last time Hamilton Heights defeated Twin Lakes, you have to go all the way back to the 2019 season. That year, the two teams met twice with Twin Lakes winning the first matchup and Hamilton Heights winning the second.

Since the 2015 season, Twin Lakes has won seven of the teams' meetings while Hamilton Heights has defeated Twin Lakes five times in that time span.

Looking at the quarterback matchup, Twin Lakes sophomore QB Cooper Dold has had himself quite the season so far. Dold has thrown for over 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns with a completion percentage of over 50%. He's only thrown four interceptions as well, according to MaxPreps.

Meanwhile, Huskies sophomore quarterback Drew Woodruff has had a relatively good season, but compared to Twin Lakes' Dold, it's not been as stellar. Woodruff has thrown for nearly 900 yards, but nine interceptions to his four touchdown passes has been a point of weakness for the 6-foot, 4-inch gunslinger. According to MaxPreps, Woodruff has a quarterback rating of 47.8 and is only averaging 12 yards per pass.

On the ground, Twin Lakes also appears to have the statistical advantage. Sophomore Mason Brummett has scored an astounding 10 rushing touchdowns and rushed for over 250 yards this season alone. He's averaging 42.5 rushing yards per game, according to MaxPreps. Then there's freshman Darin Baker, who's added two touchdowns for the Indians so far this season in addition to his 74 total rushing yards.

The rushing matchup appears even more lopsided when you factor in total yards for each team. Through six games, Twin Lakes has racked up 475 total yards on the ground according to MaxPreps while Hamilton Heights has only amassed 293.

In the Hoosier Conference, Hamilton Heights actually holds a better record than Twin Lakes. The Huskies are 1-1 while Twin Lakes is 0-1.

Even though Twin Lakes appears to have a statistical advantage, anything can happen in high school football. Don't miss highlights from the Operation Football Game of the Week this Friday, Oct. 4 on 13News at 11 p.m.
