CARMEL, Ind. — It's high school football playoffs this week on Operation Football, and fifth-ranked Westfield made the short trip to Carmel to face the Greyhounds Friday night.
Things got off to a frustrating start for the Shamrocks. A long opening drive ended in a fumble near the end zone and it was recovered by Carmel.
But the Westfield defense stepped up, grabbing an interception and running it back for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead. It was a lead the Shamrocks were intent on building, and they went into the locker room at halftime with the score 28-0
Carmel found some second-half momentum, but Westfield kept rolling and earned a trip to the next round after a 37-21 win.
