NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — The Westfield Shamrocks won their second straight Hoosier Crossroads Conference game Friday night, defeating the Noblesville Millers 38-10.

After a heartbreaking overtime loss last week to Fishers, the Millers were hoping to score a win in front of the home crowd over another conference rival. Unfortunately for them, Westfield's running backs created a tough night for their defense.

The first few series featured the two teams trading punts until senior running back Mikeah Webster punched it in to get the 'Rocks on the board first.

As the first quarter continued, Westfield's defense kept the Noblesville offense at bay, forcing a series of punts. The first quarter ended with Westfield up 10-0 after a 25-yard field goal by sophomore kicker Diego Herrera.

Noblesville came alive in the second quarter and scored a rushing touchdown to make it a one-score game as Westfield missed a long field goal just before halftime. Unfortunately for the home crowd, the second half did not go the Millers' way.

Westfield's senior quarterback Carsen Melvin used his feet to make it 17-6 Shamrocks with 7:30 to play in the third quarter. Just a few minutes of game time later, Melvin found senior wide receiver Gabe Aramboles to put the Shamrocks up 24-6.

The fourth quarter saw quite a bit more scoring but not enough for the Millers to make a comeback. A rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown from Noblesville made it 24-18 with 3:44 left in the game.

On the ensuing kickoff, Noblesville attempted an onside kick but could not recover it, giving Westfield prime field position. Melvin again found Aramboles for a 50-yard touchdown to make it 31-18 before senior safety Drew Law came up with a pick-six put the final nail in the coffin for the Millers.

Westfield moves to 4-0 as Noblesville falls to 2-2 on the season.
