FISHERS, Ind. — It's sectional championship week on Operation Football, and Fishers made the short drive to rival Hamilton Southeastern in search of a title Friday night.
There wasn't an empty seat in the house as the game got underway, and the Royals struck quickly. Chandler Weston ran for a 48-yard touchdown to give HSE a 7-0 lead.
Fishers answered with a 70-yard catch-and-run by Joe Syrus that squared the score.
The Royals drive again. Donovan Hamilton made a great catch in the corner, making it 14-7.
Fishers pounded the ball again, and a 3-yard run by Khobie Martin tied it at 14.
Hamilton Southeastern got a field goal just before halftime, leading to a 17-14 score at the break.
In the third quarter, Jalen Alexander's touchdown extended the HSE lead to 10.
Fishers wouldn't go away, though. JonAnthony Hall's catch-and-run made it 24-21.
The Royals gave it right back to Alexander. He scored to restore HSE's 10-point margin.
Fishers made one more effort to close the gap, but HSE senior Donovan Rhodes picked it off. The Royals win, 38-21, and celebrate a sectional title.
