INDIANAPOLIS — Week one of IHSAA football for the 2023 season is officially in the books. How did the top ranked teams in the Associated Press poll do this weekend? Here's a class-by-class breakdown of which teams won and which teams lost:

Class 6A

  • No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern defeated No. 5 Fort Wayne Carroll 28-14.
  • No. 2 Cathedral defeated Lafayette Jefferson 55-14.
  • No. 3 Brownsburg defeated 5A No. 10 Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger 51-7.
  • No. 4 Center Grove lost to St. Edward (Ohio) 27-10 on Saturday.
  • No. 6 Crown Point defeated Lowell 42-7.
  • No. 7 Carmel defeated Homestead 14-7.
  • No. 8 Ben Davis defeated Cincinnati Moeller (Ohio) 49-28.
  • No. 9 Westfield defeated New Palestine 34-14.
  • No. 10 Penn defeated 5A No. 9 Valparaiso 38-21.
