Georgia State junior guard R.J. Hunter is entering the NBA draft after making one of the most memorable shots of the NCAA tournament.

Hunter announced Monday he will give up his final year of eligibility and plans to sign with an agent shortly. He is the son of Georgia State coach Ron Hunter. He is a 2012 graduate of Pike High School.

The move was expected after R.J. Hunter won his second straight Sun Belt Conference player of the year award and led the Panthers to their first NCAA appearance since 2001.

In Georgia State's opening tournament game against third-seeded Baylor, Hunter capped a remarkable comeback by hitting a long 3-pointer that gave the Panthers
a 57-56 victory
. The shot sent his father tumbling off the rolling chair he was forced to use after tearing his Achilles tendon.
