Indianapolis - Gil de Ferran has big plans for his final race weekend as a driver.
The 2003 Indianapolis 500 champion wants to win the pole, the race and the American Le Mans Series points title before heading into retirement.
De Ferran announced earlier this year that this would be his final season in the car. Instead, the two-time CART points champion, plans to focus his efforts on being a full-time car owner. De Ferran wants to expand his AMLS team from one to two cars next season, as well as starting a two-car IndyCar team.
But before he does that, de Ferran wants to win his retirement race - and a sports-car points title.
