Freshman Chris Harrison-Docks has announced his intention to leave the Butler men's basketball program and transfer to another school. He is leaving before Butler's first regular season game and will retain four seasons of eligibility.
"Chris notified us of his intention to transfer from Butler," said Butler head coach Brad Stevens. "Certainly, I'm disappointed, but I want to thank him for his effort the last couple of months and wish him nothing but the best from the entire Butler basketball program."
The first-year guard from Okemos, Mich., saw brief action in Butler's two exhibition games and scored his first collegiate points with a pair of free throws in the Bulldogs' victory over Indianapolis.
"I believe that another school would better compliment me both personally and athletically," said Harrison-Docks in announcing his departure. "I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my time here at Butler and may find disappointment in my decision. I wish my teammates and coaches the best of luck."
Harrison-Docks was a three-time first team All-State guard at Okemos High School. He averaged 23 points, seven assists, six rebounds and 3.5 steals as a senior, and he finished his prep career as the all-time leading scorer at his high school with 1,426 career points.
