Janean Kinzie, Director of Social Wellness and Life Enrichment at American Senior Communities, said, "We are so excited to welcome back our fully vaccinated volunteers to spend time with our residents. The COVID vaccinations and the nice weather have really allowed us much more freedom to socialize and re-engage with our community."

ASC's Care Companion Program learns about residents, then matches their backgrounds and experiences with unique activities. From painting and cooking classes to pet therapy and musical experiences, both the residents and volunteers benefit from this time together.

"This past year has been hard for everyone," Kinzie said. "If you're someone that is looking for more connections to be more social and do something really meaningful with your day, volunteering can be a great benefit."
