INDIANAPOLIS — STORY SPONSORED BY AMERICAN SENIOR COMMUNITIES
Janean Kinzie, Ammerican Senior Communities' Director of Social Wellness & Life Enrichment, shared tips for celebrating the holidays with senior family members and prioritizing mental health.
"The holidays are full of a lot of emotions. And for some, the holidays really bring up emotions of loss of a loved one perhaps, or spending holidays away from the people that they love, or even just changes in routine or tradition," Kinzie said. "Those emotions can be difficult to deal with."
ASC's Care Companion Program pairs residents with a CARE Companion, an ASC team member who learn all about residents' life stories. the goal of the program is to form a relationship and a friendship with that person, which is so important, especially at the holidays.
ASC offers different types of activities to promote physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellness for their residents. For a comprehensive, fact-based guide to mental health, visit: ASCcare.com/senior-mental-health-support.
