CAPE TOWN, South Africa (WTHR) – A Ring home security camera captured the moment a baboon was attempting to break in to a home in near Cape Town, South Aftrica.

A Chacma Baboon, or commonly known as a Cape Baboon, was caught on camera attempting to break in to a home near a nature reserve in the village of Simmons Town.

The video shows the baboon come right up to the camera and then backing away after spotting a homeowner in the window.

The baboon then jumps up on the roof and roams around up there, looking for a way in to the home.

According to the homeowner, this happens a few times a year and these baboons will break into homes and trash kitchens in search of food.

The town even has a "Baboon Hotline" to call when this happens since this type of baboon is a protected species. When you call the hotline, a team will come and coax them back into the wild.
