LAWRENCE COUNTY, INDIANA, Ind. — The bodies of two men reported missing in the White River have been recovered, according to state conservation officers.
The Department of Natural Resources confirmed the recovery Wednesday evening.
DNR said the body of Cung Hu, 38, Indianapolis, was located around noon. The second victim, Hrang Mang, 42, also of Indianapolis was found later in the day.
DNR responded to the East Fork of the White River near the Williams Dam in Lawrence County around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Witnesses reported seeing two men attempting to wade across the river to an island before being swept away by the current.
An investigation is underway.
