BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WBIR) - The Christmas spirit was shining bright inside an east Tennessee boy after he accidentally swallowed a snowman.
Aiden Tilley says he was messing around with the one-inch tall Frosty figurine when it got stuck in his throat. He says he rushed downstairs to tell his parents, who say they didn't believe the 12-year-old at first.
"I just didn't believe him. Who says they swallowed a snowman, you know?" said Aiden's father, Johnathan.
"I put it in my mouth and I tried to spit it out, and it was a lot heavier than I thought it would be so it got stuck in my throat," Aiden said.
After a series of calls to emergency rooms, Aiden was taken to an X-ray technician, who revealed the shiny snowman inside the boy's stomach.
"I used to like the snowmen. That changed, well, because I swallowed one," Aiden said.
Doctors say Aiden is going to be fine and the snowman is small enough to pass naturally.
The Tilley family says they plan to hang onto the X-ray and use it in their Christmas card in 2017.
