A prosecutor in Bulgaria wants to keep a Swedish tourist in jail until his trial after seeing a security video showing the man kicking a maid in the head and knocking her out.
The 53-year-old man is shown walking past the maid, who is scrubbing the floor in an upscale tourist hotel. The man stops, seems to speak with the maid for about 20 seconds, then as she bends back down to clean, kicks her in the head for no apparent reason.
The attack knocked the woman unconscious and broke her jaw.
The attacker was arrested and can be held for 48 hours, but due to the nature of the assault,t he regional prosecutor wants to hold the suspect until trial.
The man has been charged with assault and hooliganism.
