FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTHR) — It's not every day, week or year that someone spots an albino deer, but Denise Woods saw the unusual sight in her backyard just last week.
According to WSMV, she moved to Franklin, Tennessee from Florida a year ago and still can't believe what she saw.
“It was a shock,” she said. “I was looking out the window and I saw something white and I was ‘What is that?’ and got the binoculars. I never saw one before in my entire life.”
Woods told WSMV that she sees a lot of wildlife in her backyard including turkeys, foxes, raccoons and deer. But until last week, she had never seen an albino deer — most people haven't.
Some sites claim there's a 1 in 20,000 chance of spotting one of these unique deer. Others say it's even more rare, closer to a 1 in 30,000 chance.
