HILLSBORO, Ore. (NBC NEWS) - This certainly isn't something you see every day - a police mug shot with a big red bird.
Craig Buckner was booked in to the Washington County, Oregon Jail on a charge of violating the terms of a previous release.
Buckner's macaw, appropriately named "Bird," came to the courthouse, but was forced to wait outside during a hearing.
After the hearing completed and while Buckner was being booked, he became concerned about his bird that was waiting outside in a tree.
A deputy allowed the bird to come inside during the booking procedure.
As you can see, the pair even appeared in front of the camera.
A friend of the deputy has agreed to care for Bird while Bucker is serving his sentence.
