WILTSHIRE, England (NBC NEWS) - An iron key that went to a locker on the Titanic has sold at acution for $104,000.
The key belonged to 23-year-old Sidney Sedunary, a steward on the boat.
He was among the 1,500 that died when the ship struck an iceberg during its maiden voyage from England to New York in 1912.
The key, attached to a brass tag stamped "Locker 14 F Deck" was sent to his widow after his body was discovered.
Prices for Titanic artifacts have soared in recent years.
In 2013, a violin believed to have been played as the doomed vessel sank sold for more than $1 million dollars.
