SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (WTHR) - Rescue crews hoisted a horse to safety after a terrifying fall in southern California.
It is believed the horse and its rider fell 300 feet down a steep hillside in San Bernardino Thursday afternoon.
Los Angeles County Fire and Rescue assisted in the recovery of the horse, with rescuers putting a harness on the animal and lifting it to safety with a helicopter.
The rider was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The horse appears to be in good condition and walked to a trailer under its own power after being set down on firm ground.
