INDIANAPOLIS — Former Indianapolis mayoral candidate Jefferson Shreve has filed to run for Congress.
According to new documents, Shreve filed to run for U.S. Representative in Indiana's 6th Congressional District as a Republican on Feb. 9. That district comprises of Fayette, Hancock, Henry, Johnson, Rush, Shelby, Union and Wayne counties, as well as parts of Marion, Bartholomew and Randolph counties.
Shreve is running for the congressional seat currently held by Greg Pence, who announced he would not seek reelection in January.
In the 2023 Indianapolis mayoral race, Shreve challenged incumbent mayor Joe Hogsett as a Republican, but lost by nearly 31,100 votes.
