Avon, July 13 - An Avon Police officer resigned after he was accused of writing fake tickets.
Officials say Officer Ryan Chenney volunteered to work in a June Operation Pull Over Campaign, but instead of reporting for duty he wrote false warning tickets and turned in a time sheet for overtime.
The department considered filing ghost employment and official misconduct charges, but Chenney resigned as part of an agreement.
