GEORGETOWN, Del. — An Amber Alert is in effect for a two-year-old boy who has been missing from his Delaware home since the weekend.
Police in Georgetown, Delaware issued the alert Monday for Cristobal Lopez, who went missing between Saturday evening and Sunday morning (July 26). The boy had been staying with his cousin, who has custody of Lopez.
The child's mother, Angelina Lopez, was staying at the cousin's house to see her son. The cousin told police they discovered Angelina had taken Cristobal sometime before 5 a.m. Sunday.
Police said Angelina has a court order stating Cristobal is to remain in the custody of his cousin and that she is not to have unlawful contact or unsupervised visits with her son.
Cristobal was last seen wearing blue shoes and a yellow T-shirt. His mother, described as a five-foot-tall, 150-pound Hispanic female, was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt and blue pants. Investigators learned she took a black and light blue car seat from the cousin's home.
No information about the vehicle Angelina Lopez may have been driving has been made available at this time, but police believe the boy may be in imminent danger.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
