MILWAUKEE (WTHR) — A couple in Wisconsin has their hands full after getting pregnant — naturally — with triplets twice.
Tyana Stanton and Jarrell Covington welcomed their first set of triplets in October 2018. Less than six months later, they learned they were pregnant with three more.
"I called him from the doctor like crying hysterically," Stanton said. "We are about to have our second set of triplets!"
It was especially surprising because Stanton said right after the first set, she got on birth control.
"I'm like, 'OK, we're not doing this again no time soon,'" she told WTMJ.
It's probably a feeling Stanton's parents were all too familiar with. She is a twin herself and she has twin brothers.
Just when Stanton and Covington wrapped their heads around the idea, the couple learned they lost one of the babies in utero. They mourned their loss, then shifted their focus to preparing for twins.
The newborns, Kaylee and Junior, joined toddler triplets Khyra, Kingston and Khyla, and 3-year-old Kyhlee in January.
Now parents of six, Stanton and Covington said the feeling of shock quickly turned into feeling blessed.
"We see the blessing in the chaos," Covington said. "I'm crazy blessed," Stanton said. "I was chosen for this. I tell people that all the time."
