PHOENIX, Ariz. (WTHR) - One of the nation's leading moving and storage companies is making an offer to college students impacted by coronavirus-related disruptions on campus.
In a message posted Thursday on the company's website, U-Haul said they would offer 30 days of rent-free access to company owned and operated storage units "for college students impacted by unforeseen schedule changes at their universities."
“We don’t know how every student is affected, but we know they are affected,” said company president John Taylor. “More and more universities are giving instructions to leave campus and go home. Students and their parents are in need of moving and storage solutions. We have the expertise and network to help, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
While U-Haul has made a similar offer in communities affected by natural disasters, this is the first time such an offer has been extended on a company-wide basis.
To take advantage of the offer, students must be a new U-Haul customer and present a valid college identification. The offer is limited and subject to availability.
