WASHINGTON — More than 200,000 Honda SUVs are under recall due to concerns with fuel leak issues.

The recall, published by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration on Nov. 27, includes certain 2023-2024 Honda Passport and 2024-2025 Honda Pilot models. Honda said the affected vehicles' fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe may separate, allowing fuel to leak.

It is the third major recall in the last few months from the car manufacturer. In October, Honda recalled 1.7 million vehicles due to potential steering issues and weeks later recalled 700,000 cars over faulty fuel pumps that could lead to fuel leaks.

According to the safety recall report, Honda received only one warranty claim about the issue and no reports of injuries or deaths related to the problem. Honda said it received the first claim in May 2024 after a pre-delivery inspection at a dealer.

The automaker said dealers will inspect and repair the fuel filler neck tube and pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Jan. 6, 2025.

Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
