DURANT, Okla. (WTHR) – An Oklahoma fisherman reeled in quite the catch!
Oklahoma Game Wardens shared a photo of the prehistoric looking fish on Facebook Monday.
Zachary Sutterfield caught the 6 feet 9 inch long alligator gar while bowfishing on Lake Texoma.
The Oklahoma Game Wardens say the alligator gar weighed about 170 pounds.
Luckily, two other men were nearby to help wrangle in the big fish.
"Zachary prides himself in being a conservationist. He allowed ODWC biologist Richard Snow to come and gather data from the gar for important research," Oklahoma Game Wardens wrote on Facebook.
The photo has been shared more than 1,000 times.
