GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (WTHR) — A 39-year-old father is in jail after allegedly abducting his 1-year-old daughter.
Baylee Sue Peeples initially went missing early Thursday morning after Baylee's mother, Tiffany Aycock, said she got in an argument with the child's father, and he drove off with Baylee in the car.
Aycock told WXIA she tried to take Baylee out of the car when they were arguing, but Robert said he was taking her, then sped off. Aycock has custody of the child.
Police issued an Amber Alert for Baylee, and after 12 hours of searching, found her safe at Robert's mother's home. Police later arrested Robert.
Jail records show he was booked into the Gwinnet County Jail around 10:45 Thursday night. According to WXIA, he's facing charges for aggravated assault and kidnapping in this incident. He has previously faced charges for child cruelty and battery prior to Baylee's birth.
