NORTHWOOD, Ohio — The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash between a car and an Amtrack train in Wood Couny Saturday morning.
The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. on Walbridge Road near Owen Road in Lake Township.
The Amtrak train, which was traveling northwest from Pittsburgh to Toledo, collided with a Ford Fusion that was traveling east.
According to a press release, the Ford Fusion "became stuck on the railroad tracks." The driver, a 35-year-old of Flint, Michigan, was able to exit the vehicle before it was struck by the train.
No injuries were reported. The railroad was closed until around 7 a.m. when Amtrack was able to clear the scene.
The train was carrying 112 passengers as well as a crew on board and consisted of six railcars and a locomotive.
