Morgan County, Sept. 3 - Morgan County has adopted a controversial smoking ban.
Commissioners voted two to one Friday to adopt an amended ordinance. As of January 1, restaurants will go smoke-free or provide a separate smoking section and proper air ventilation.
While local health officials applaud the effort, some believe it doesn't go far enough.
Dave Richards with the American Cancer Society says, "The problem is workers still have to go to smoke areas, so they will be exposed to smoke themselves."
